About the position

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced estimators and senior estimators for our well respected civil contracting client. They have a large scope of projects from structures , Bridge and roads, Dams, Water infrastructure projects.

Primary Requirements:

• Receive and record tender documents
• Assist the relevant bid manager with preparation of estimates and tenders.
• Preparation & sourcing of subcontract/supplier pricing packages
• Develops and maintains well organized systems and records to assist with the preparation of best tender submissions
• Updates data for currency in databases and tender software systems
• Review of bids with the bid manager or estimates manager
• Preparation and loading data for tenders into databases and tender software
• Ability to read and interpret plans to undertake quantity takeoffs
• Ensure tender documents, tender notices, and closing dates are received, recorded and distributed to estimator.
• Prepare pricing packages for suppliers and subcontractors that inform project specific requirements
• Source best rates to increase the chance of tender submission success
• Review risk and opportunity associated with tender conditions and supplier offers.
• Compilation of reporting for estimators & management review

Qualifications and Experience:

• Civil estimating experience with a track record of successful tenders
• Tertiary qualification in engineering, quantity surveying or similar is preferred but not essential.
• Knowledge of construction processes, operations, and methodologies.
• Experience in estimating of civil infrastructure projects.
• Extensive experience in recognising and understanding implications in programs.
• Well-developed communication skills to assist in client meetings and to manage internal reviews and approvals.
• Ability to deliver competitive estimates from first principles to project start up.
• A proven background managing successful tenders.
• Strong commercial acumen.
