The Role
As a SETS Case Coordinator, you will provide culturally competent case coordination and settlement support for humanitarian entrants and eligible migrants. Working within the Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) program, you will help clients develop social connections, build independence, and achieve their goals as they settle into Australian society.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role (maternity leave cover) until 16 January 2026. Primarily based in the Logan region, this position is ideal for someone committed to supporting migrant and refugee communities through a collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Deliver culturally competent case coordination, including psychosocial assessments, case planning, information provision, and referrals.
Support clients to build meaningful social connections within their cultural, religious, and wider communities.
Coordinate and facilitate group work projects and community development activities to enhance clients' settlement life skills.
Refer clients with complex needs to specialized support teams as necessary and provide guidance for emotional support.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, advocating for clients and ensuring access to relevant services.
Maintain comprehensive and timely reporting in Multicultural Australia’s case management system and the Department of Home Affairs’ DEX system.
Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and other organizational events.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Diploma in Community Services, Community Development, or a related discipline.
A valid Queensland Driver’s License.
Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a Blue Card (Working with Children Check) and National Police Clearance.
Experience in case management, particularly with newly arrived humanitarian entrants or individuals in settlement processes.
Strong cross-cultural communication skills, with an understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by humanitarian entrants and migrants.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with database reporting systems.
Additional Desirable Skills:
Experience working in the not-for-profit sector.
Location: Primarily based in the Logan region.
