The Roles
1 x Full-time, 6-month fixed-term
1 x Full-time, 12-month fixed-term
As a Welcome Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for newly arrived clients, providing essential orientation and coordinating access to key support services. Your work will help set the foundation for a successful settlement experience, ensuring clients feel safe, informed, and connected to their community.
These roles are located in Brisbane and Logan and are well-suited for individuals committed to supporting people from culturally diverse backgrounds
What You’ll Be Doing:
Welcome and orient new arrivals, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of available services and support networks.
Develop and implement personalised settlement plans tailored to clients’ needs, aspirations, and cultural considerations.
Coordinate access to essential services, including housing, health, education, and community resources.
Facilitate connections between clients and local community groups to promote social inclusion and well-being.
Provide crisis intervention and escalate risks to management when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
Maintain accurate client records and documentation, adhering to organisational policies and reporting requirements.
Participate in team meetings, training, and community networking activities to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Human Services, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
A valid Queensland Driver’s Licence.
Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a Blue Card (Working with Children Check) and National Police Clearance.
Experience in case management or community services, particularly with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with clients.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Additional Desirable Skills:
Experience in a similar role within a community or not-for-profit organisation.
Proficiency in a language other than English.
