About the Role

We're seeking a Security Analyst who can jump straight in and help drive key cybersecurity initiatives over the next 12 months. This is a hands-on, project-focused role where you'll play a vital part in supporting the delivery of strategic goals—helping the team strengthen Council’s security posture and deliver outcomes aligned with best-practice frameworks

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and support the design, planning, and implementation of cybersecurity initiatives aligned with the Essential 8 and ISO27001.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of key projects focused on auditing, monitoring, and logging solutions.
• Evaluate and implement cybersecurity tools—from standalone products to full-suite platforms.
• Assist with developing security policies, configuring technology controls, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.
• Support internal audits and help maintain a strong ISMS.

What we’re looking for:

• Solid experience with email security protocols: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, phishing prevention, and keyword filtering.
• Hands-on experience with a wide range of cybersecurity tools and implementations.
• Strong understanding of ISMS frameworks and cybersecurity compliance.
• Someone who can hit the ground running, work collaboratively, and deliver against project milestones.
