We are a Brisbane-based smallgoods manufacturer keeping alive the traditional, authentic salumi manufacturing techniques for 3 generations.

We are seeking an experienced and professional Production Operations Manager.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Production Operations Manager will be responsible for continuing to develop and also implement sound practices and processes to support the business’s overall strategy.

You will provide significant guidance and input in the areas of innovation, culture and operations. It is anticipated that the scope and depth will expand as your role develops.

The Position:

Management

· Actively develop and implement company wide culture, strategy and direction

· Design and develop systems and processes to enhance the business as well as reporting requirements to the owner

· Actively manage the staff and HR requirements across the business

· Develop robust internal controls for operating the business

Operations

· Organise staff loads between different sections

· Ensure adequately skilled staff available for each function are on duty each day

· Step in and help if staff are away in any area

· Management of suppliers including material price negotiations

· Oversee costing on raw materials to maintain appropriate profit levels by product across the business operations.

· Ordering Raw materials and consumables required for production ie Meat, Ingredients...

· Be on call for 1 weekend in every four

· Manage and coordinate maintenance personal for machinery and be oncall for breakdowns

· Responsible for the smooth running of the workrooms to ensure maximum capacity throughput

· Responsible for maintaining Quality Assurance, HACCP and other compliance across our operations.

The Person:

· Formal qualifications are required

· Proven track record of success in food manufacturing

· Minimum of 5 years in an Production/Operation Management role

· Solid understanding of manufacturing

· Experience in managing people and meeting KPI’s
