About the role
The Store and Supply Assistant will assist with the coordination of the supply, store functions and warehousing activities to provide an efficient, accurate and complete supply chain service to the hospital.
The role requires an independent worker, who can support all hospital departments by ensuring adequate stock levels at all times. Tasks include (but are not limited to) the ordering, scanning and goods receipting of consumables and prostheses as well as the unpacking and distribution of incoming goods.
- Maintaining the integrity of the materials management and supply functions
- Prompt delivery of goods and materials to relevant departments
- Ensure records are maintained accurately and are promptly updated
- Ensuring the timely availability of supplies and services to optimise patient care
- Work within the purchasing policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal cost
- Carrying out inventory monitoring to ensure sufficient inventory is on hand to maintain the agreed level of customer service
- Assist the Store Supervisor with the implementation of purchasing, storage and distribution policies and systems
- Ensure the supply department and warehouse area is kept clean and tidy
- Perform receivable activities in stores and on the loading dock as required
- Perform duties within the operating theatre department as required
- Perform other duties as required
About you
- Experience in or willingness to learn warehouse management
- Ability to work with a scanner
- Effective team player
- Maintains a helpful and courteous manner
- Experience working in a customer service role and working with electronic data systems (e.g. Microsoft Office)
