Your new role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated finance professional to join the Finance and Business Services Division (F&BS) at a globally recognised University in Canberra. The Senior Taxation Accountant will be responsible for delivering timely and effective GST, FBT, and other taxation-related reporting services to the University's Colleges and Portfolio business units. This role involves collaboration with Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Finance & Financial Reporting teams to lead financial processes, strategies, and initiatives across the University. Within this position you will:

• Deliver high-quality taxation-related reporting services to the University's Colleges and Portfolio business units.
• Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Finance & Financial Reporting teams to develop and implement financial processes and strategies.
• Lead initiatives that improve financial performance and efficiency across the University.
• Demonstrate credibility and expertise within taxation, with a strong focus on FBT and GST.

What you'll need to succeed

You bring a depth of taxation experience and knowledge from working within government, Big 4 or corporate taxation environments in Australia. You are known as a true tax expert, you love what you do, and thrive in providing expert knowledge and support to stakeholders. Additionally, you have:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (CA, CPA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement
