Due to progression within the company and the promotion of key staff to partner positions, we require a highly experienced Senior Accountant skilled in Business Advisory and Tax Accounting able to manage a client list, to immediately join the business in a full-time, ongoing position.
The Role
We are looking for a senior accountant with a passion for providing business advice to a diverse range of clients. To be successful in the role you will need the skills and experience to handle complex tax, GST, property, farming, legal structures, succession planning, and management accounting issues.
Additionally, you would want to join a boutique accounting firm that values teamwork, leadership, and strives for excellence.
This is an office-based role.

Your Responsibilities
Client Management: Manage and grow own portfolio of clients from across various industries and sectors, providing them with tailored and proactive business and taxation advice.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and lodge income tax returns, BAS, and other tax obligations for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Business Advisory: Provide clients with strategic advice on tax planning, business structuring, asset protection, succession planning, and other business matters.
Management Accounting: Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and other management reports for clients, providing them with insights and recommendations.
Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior staff, ensuring quality and efficiency of work. Contribute to the development and improvement of the firm’s policies and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience: 5 or more years of relevant experience as a tax accountant in a public practice environment, with exposure to different types of tax structures (such as private companies, trusts, sole traders, partnerships, etc.) At least 3 or more years as a client manager or in a client facing role.
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. CPA or CA qualification preferred.
Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of accounting software (e.g., HandiSoft/Access, MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks), along with Microsoft tools, especially Excel.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to clients and stakeholders.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical and innovative solutions to clients’ challenges.
