Student Services and Engagement Coordinator – CUC Ovens Murray

Employment type: Part-time (FTE 0.6, hours negotiable).

About Us: Country Universities Centre Ovens Murray is a not-for-profit community driven organisation, which is jointly funded by the Commonwealth Government under the Regional University Study Hubs program, and key local support. CUC Ovens Murray is part of an affiliated network of the Country Universities Centre (CUC), which have centres located throughout regional NSW, VIC & QLD. CUC Ovens Murray provides the opportunity to make higher education more accessible for students of all ages in our region. Our students have free access to high-speed Internet, modern technology, and general academic support all delivered locally at our three sites in Wangaratta, Corryong & Mansfield. Your role: This is a highly rewarding and unique opportunity to shape the education landscape in the Wangaratta region. As Student Services and Engagement Coordinator (Wangaratta), you will work with the Centre Manager in the identification and development of student engagement initiatives at CUC Ovens Murray’s Wangaratta site. The Student Services and Engagement Coordinator will develop strategies and implement programs that provide and enhance student engagement, as well as providing support to regional students studying higher education courses.

In addition to supporting students, and designing and implementing CUC Ovens Murray student activities and events, you will also represent the CUC Ovens Murray at relevant community events to build and maintain community awareness and knowledge of the CUC. You will work closely with the Centre Manager and Widening Participation coordinator to support existing programs, whilst developing new relationships and opportunities between local schools, organisations and CUC Ovens Murray.

• Strong collaborative skills with ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and work within a team;

• Good public speaker, presenter and ability to coordinate activities and events;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Excellent organisation and time management skills;

• Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media knowledge.
