About the Role

As the Senior Analyst, Cyber Governance, Risk, and Compliance Officer, you will be pivotal in enhancing the cyber security posture of the Premier's Department and The Cabinet Office. In this role, you'll lead initiatives that strengthen cyber security governance, ensuring the organisation stays resilient, compliant, and ready for emerging threats.

Your work will span across technology, risk, and policy, influencing how cyber security risks are assessed and managed. You'll foster a strong security culture, guide decision-making, and ensure that key stakeholders are well-informed on risks and compliance matters. By driving the implementation of governance frameworks, conducting cyber risk assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance, you will help protect critical government systems and information.

We're Looking For

  • Cyber Risk Assessment Expertise: Proven experience in conducting cyber risk assessments for new and existing services
  • Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of cyber security standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., Cyber Security NSW, ISO, NIST)
  • Policy Development & Implementation: Ability to develop, implement, and continuously improve information security policies, processes, and standards
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in working across teams and liaising with senior stakeholders to assess, mitigate, and communicate cyber risks
  • Audit & Reporting: Strong skills in performing audits and preparing detailed reports on governance, risk exposure, and compliance for senior management
  • Cyber Security Awareness: Ability to drive awareness programs and communicate complex cyber risks in an accessible manner.
