About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director, and part of the leadership team, this rarely offered hands-on position will see you providing guidance and leadership to a close tight knit team. Liaising with existing and new clients regarding future opportunities and scope of work while accurately estimating projects from enquiry to submission (zero based estimating).

Duties

• Accurately scope jobs and estimate requirements to meet client needs (first principles estimating)
• Effectively handover jobs to operations team
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and new customers
• Manage estimating and resource planning systems, integrating with production, procurement, sales and finance
• Manage a small committed team

• An understanding of mechanical fabrication, rather than solely structural steel across diverse and one-off builds
• Zero based estimating, this is not a repeatable batch environment – projects range up to $1.5 - $2m
