The Client
Senior Financial Accountant required for this large technology business based in Sydney CBD. The Company specialises in phone app technology to enable end users to purchase online products from their favourite stores and they have experienced significant growth over the last 2 years. As a result of this exciting growth phase including both an acquisition and organic growth through additional contract wins, the business requires a Senior Financial Accountant. The team is large, friendly and collaborative and you would be walking into a role with established systems and processes.

The Role
The role will be reporting directly into the Financial Controller and managing a division of the business from both a statutory and reporting perspective. You will be covering all the consolidated reporting and working hand in hand with the Financial Controller to produce month, quarterly and yearly reports.

Key duties would include:

• Taking ownership of the financial accounting team and leading the month end close process
• Lead and review a complex international consolidation process
• Work with the Financial Controller to compile and prepare the ASX Annual Report in collaboration with the wider finance team
• Work with the team to ensure auditors queries and information requests are dealt with
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, corporate and local accounting policies
• Provide statutory reporting and management accounting a business unit within the group
• Business partnering with internal and external stakeholders
• Statutory account preparation
• Ad hoc projects as required

About You

• You are a qualified CA/CPA with strong technical financial accounting skills. You will have knowledge of all the latest accounting standards that have impacted multinational mining services business including the new Revenue and Lease Accounting standards
• If you have experience working in a large, listed, multinational business this will be held in high regard
• Your background in public practice Big 4 / second tier would be considered favorably. Those looking for their first step into commerce from an Assistant Manager/Manager level would find this to be a great stepping stone
• Your ability to communicate at all levels of the Business is critical
• Tier 1 ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Pronto) will help you to hit the ground running and should be complemented by strong excel skills.
