About the position:
Join Winning Group as our next Sustainability Specialist and play a critical role in driving one to its next levels. Reporting to our Head of Sustainability & Industry Impact, this is your chance to leave your mark on a growing business that leads its industry in sustainability with innovation and passion.
You’ll work across all four pillars of our CARE Framework, with a focus on responsible sourcing and decarbonisation. From packaging, policy and compliance, to supplier engagement and climate action, this role is diverse, hands-on, and loaded with purpose.
- Own responsible sourcing initiatives, including supplier sustainability onboarding and audit reviews, timber due diligence, and compliance checks.
- Deliver packaging + waste reduction programs, ensuring alignment with APCO targets and our own waste diversion and circularity goals.
- Support sustainability reporting, from the Modern Slavery Statement to ASRS/ISSB-aligned frameworks.
- Support our Climate Action Plan, helping us hit our decarbonisation goals and reducing climate-related risks.
- Educate and inspire – Run awareness campaigns and sustainability training across the business and for suppliers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to gather, validate, and report data – bringing insights to life.
- Contribute to governance, audits, and materiality assessments, keeping our sustainability momentum strong.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, sustainability, social science, or legal
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sustainability-related role
- Solid understanding of reporting frameworks including APCO, GRI, ASRS/ISSB, and the Modern Slavery Act
- Experience with Sedex, BSCI or other social compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement ability
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail – you're all about the data
- Advanced Excel and MS Office wizardry
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for sustainability that’s contagious
