About the Company

Our client is a well-established and respected Australian-owned supplier of industrial components and solutions. With decades of experience, a vast product range, and a strong commitment to customer service, they service clients across construction, infrastructure, engineering, and manufacturing sectors. Backed by strong growth and a healthy pipeline of work, they are now seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to drive expansion in the Sydney region.

About the Role

As the Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying and winning new business, growing existing accounts, and promoting a comprehensive range of industrial products. This is a field-based role offering the autonomy to manage your territory and the support to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and target new business opportunities across industrial, construction, manufacturing, and engineering sectors.

Focus on selling a wide range of fasteners and steel solutions, including but not limited to:

- Bolts (e.g., high-tensile, anchor, stud)

- Nuts, screws, and threaded rods

- Specialized fasteners (e.g., U-bolts, eye bolts)

- Anchoring systems and manufactured-to-order steel components

Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed targets.

Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients by delivering tailored solutions and exceptional service.

Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends.

Prepare and present proposals that clearly demonstrate value and technical knowledge.

Manage the full sales cycle – from lead generation and quoting through to order placement and delivery follow-up.

Work closely with internal operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth fulfilment and client satisfaction.

Maintain accurate records in CRM and report regularly on performance and pipeline.

Skills and Experience

Proven experience in B2B business development, ideally within the industrial supply, construction, or engineering products sectors.

Background in selling industrial fasteners and/or manufactured steel products is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of technical products and applications, including:

- Bolt types and specifications

- Anchoring and fastening systems

- Steel grades and customer-specific manufacturing

Ability to build trust and credibility with a variety of stakeholders, from project managers to procurement teams.

Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Competent with CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
