About Us:
ICS is a family-owned stainless steel metal treatment business, established in 2009 and currently experiencing rapid growth. In 2021, we expanded with Cable Restoration Australia (CRA), specialising in offshore cable coating. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive revenue, expand market reach, and strengthen client relationships.
This role is based in Forrestdale, WA, with travel around Greater Perth to engage clients, secure new business opportunities, and develop projects in fabrication, energy, and resources sectors.
The Role:
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new growth opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and securing both low and high-value projects. Your role will involve a mix of strategic planning, client engagement, sales execution, and marketing collaboration, with a focus on expanding ICS & CRA’s presence in steel fabrication, energy, and resource sectors.
This is an autonomous, high-impact role that requires initiative, industry knowledge, and strong commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Market Development
- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and business opportunities.
- Identify and target key clients in fabrication, energy, and resources sectors.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with fabricators, industrial clients, and key stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Act as a primary point of contact for high-value clients and project negotiations.
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Drive the full sales process from prospecting to deal closure.
- Develop quotations and proposals in collaboration with the General Manager.
- Identify new product lines or revenue streams to expand business scope.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and business development goals.
Collaboration & Marketing
- Work with Operations, Management, and Marketing to align business strategies.
- Assist with website and social media development to enhance brand presence.
- Contribute to marketing campaigns, trade shows, and promotional activities.
Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Analyse market trends, sales data, and customer feedback to refine strategies.
- Prepare monthly and annual reports on business development performance.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and KPIs.
Product & Service Expansion
- Identify new service opportunities for stainless steel treatments and cable restoration.
- Develop and enhance existing service lines to improve quality and efficiency.
- Play a key role in driving innovation and expanding service offerings.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven success in business development, sales, or a comparable role.
- Strong industry experience in energy, resources, and fabrication sales.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with a client-first approach.
- Experience in sales strategy, market analysis, and revenue growth initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal teams.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office, and business management tools.
- A goal-driven mindset with strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Marketing experience (trade shows, digital campaigns, online promotions).
- Strong understanding of market trends and competitive landscape.
- Background in industrial sales, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance in industrial environments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients efficiently.
