About the Company:
Our client is an innovative Australian owned manufacturer of essential metal products used in the transport and defense industries. Working from multiple key sites, our clients’ significant investment in R&D and dedicated team has driven stable growth for over 4 decades. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a passionate mechanical engineer to join their developing engineering team as a Senior Product Engineer.
About the Role:
As Senior Product Engineer, you will work closely with the engineering manager, assisting with the continued development of the engineering team by lending your expertise to the creation and implementation of engineering design and documentation processes. Your ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and clients, and experience driving continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing product design, first run and launch with make you an integral part of this growing team.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
• Lead FMEA processes across the business.
• Complete complex designs and finite analysis of structural and sheet metal products.
• Assist with first run of new products and new product launch.
• Run projects from concept right through to delivery.
• Building and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Have or be eligible to hold RPEV.
• Demonstrated experience with CAD in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment, and FEA and FMEA for complex metal components.
• Previous experience in engineering process development and implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse group of individuals with varying levels of experience in the successful delivery of a project or new product launch.
• Hands on experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, and strong understanding of fabrication equipment capabilities.
