This uncompromising approach has earned the company an outstanding reputation for quality and service that has underpinned their ongoing expansion since beginning in 1920.

As a consequence of this growth, they are seeking to appoint a Financial Officer to join their inner-west based team. On offer is a secure, long-term future in a good working environment with an Australian, family owned company located in Marrickville.

Role

This is a full-time role with hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm 5 days per week. Reporting to the General Manager, the following are responsibilities of the Financial Officer:

• Lodgement of monthly/annual Payroll Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, Workers Compensation & Taxable Payments Annual Report
• Completing & lodging Business Activity Statements
• Reconciliation of all accounts
• Complete accounting information & supporting schedules to assist with the annual income tax return
• Payments to overseas suppliers
• Liaising with freight forwarder & customs agent for importation of goods
• Profit & loss on all jobs
• Sales commissions calculations
• Assist with payroll, invoicing, accounts receivable/payable as required

Candidate

The ideal candidate will have several years' experience in a similar role ideally with accountancy qualifications. That experience will have equipped you with the consummate interpersonal skills needed as the first point of contact for the company regarding financial matters. Proficiency with MYOB / Xero as well as a sound user ability with Word, Excel and the usage of a CRM.

You will also need to possess good organisational skills, coupled with strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Other essential personal attributes include a confident, professional yet friendly phone manner supported by excellent spoken and written English skills.

Remuneration

Remuneration is by way of an annual salary plus superannuation and annual leave loading that will be reviewed at the completion of the 6-month probationary period.
