With a close-knit team of 35+ professionals, they pride themselves on innovation, and client success. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the company and serve as a figurehead for the company’s long-term growth and leadership.
The Role
As the General Manager you will oversee all aspects of operations, strategy, and team performance, with three managers reporting directly to you. This is a critical leadership role where you will act as the driving force behind the company’s future. With the current owner transitioning to a chairman role within the next 2-5 years, you will become the primary leader running the company for the foreseeable future. You will shape the business through strategic planning, long-term development, budgeting, and growth initiatives while enhancing processes, systems, and team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic business plans to ensure the long-term growth and success of the financial planning division.
Act as a figurehead for the company, providing strong leadership and direction to a team of 35+, including three direct-report managers.
Oversee budgeting, financial performance, and profitability to meet and exceed revenue targets.
Ensure full compliance with ASIC regulations, FASEA standards, and other relevant financial services legislation.
Drive business development initiatives, identifying new market opportunities and building strategic partnerships.
Enhance operational processes and systems to improve efficiency and client outcomes.
Foster a positive, high-performing team culture to support the company’s vision.
About You
Extensive experience (10 to 15+ years) in a senior leadership role within financial planning or financial services, managing a team of similar size (35+) and at least three direct reports.
A solid track record of performance and leadership success, with the ability to step into a primary leadership role for the company.
Deep understanding of the Australian financial planning landscape and compliance requirements.
Exceptional leadership skills with a passion for developing a strong, positive team culture.
Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking ability to drive long-term growth.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CFP, Degree in Finance/Business, or equivalent) highly regarded.
