Autocycle International is seeking a self-motivated and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team at our brand-new recycling facility located in Altona North. This hands-on role will be on a morning shift full-time basis, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Operating fixed & mobile plant and equipment such as tyre shredders or granulators, forklifts, skid steer loaders, etc.
• Perform maintenance tasks including greasing, blade changes, inspections, etc.
• Assessing and prioritising breakdown service requirements
• Accurate and timely completion of paperwork & upkeep of equipment maintenance logs
• Work closely with Maintenance Planner & Team Leaders on strategy development, ensuring optimal plans are executed
• Assist the production processes to ensure that trade released product meets quality specifications
• Ensuring Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) policies and procedures are followed.
• Driving continuous improvement in our onsite processes

Qualifications & experience:

• Mechanical Technician/ Fitter & Turner or similar trade qualification
• Experience in a similar position with relevant tickets
• MIG & ARC welding and fabrication experience
• Experience operating a skid steer loader
• EWP licence and experience
• Ability to interpret technical documents (engineering drawings, operation manuals)
• Solid understanding of mechanical processes
• Current High Risk Work Licence (preference for WP, DG, LF)
• Keen attention to accuracy & detail
• Driver’s licence
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
