ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Drill and Blast Training Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs that ensure safety, efficiency, and best practice in drilling operations.

You will also be responsible for assessing the competency of drill rig operators, ensuring that all work meets both operational and safety standards.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Ensure all training complies with safety regulations and operational requirements.

Conduct competency assessments for drill rig operators and the shot firing team to ensure adherence to industry standards.

Collaborate effectively with teams across multiple cultures and geographic locations.

Provide feedback and ongoing support to personnel to drive continuous improvement in performance.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drill & blast practices, safety protocols, and relevant legislation.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

The candidate must have developed leadership skills and the experience or ability to manage the drill and blast training function and a solid understanding of the legislated requirements.

Cert IV Training and Assessment TAE40116 or above or working towards achieving the current Cert IV TAE qualification.

Min 5 years’ experience in the open pits drilling and blast function

Load and Haul and/ or HD Mechanical experience (desirable)

Certificate IV WHS or auditing qualifications (Desirable).

Strong ability to work in remote mining locations and across diverse teams and cultures.

Previous experience in a training and assessment role is highly regarded.

A proactive and safety-first approach to all aspects of the role.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the workforce.

Surface Shot firing Licence.

Top Hole Hammer drilling experience (Desirable)

Experience drilling on L7 and T45 Drill Rigs (Desirable)

Current unrestricted “C” Class WA Manual Drivers Licence
