About the Company & Role:

Our client is a forward-thinking firm specialising in engineering, building consulting, and project management services, delivering projects on time and within budget. They are looking for an experienced General Operations Manager to join their team.

This role will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient administration, resource allocation, and compliance. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet strategic objectives and maintain high-quality service standards.

Duties:

Lead national and remote teams to ensure timely completion of projects.

Facilitate communication among project teams, administrative staff, State Managers, and clients.

Oversee day-to-day operations, including email management, calls, and scheduling.

Allocate and monitor site inspections across different regions.

Support the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and quality management systems.

Assist the finance department with invoicing, accounts receivable, and related tasks.

Maintain and organise up-to-date records of subcontractors.

Coordinate travel arrangements and diaries for senior staff and engineering teams.

Work closely with HR to support recruitment, onboarding, and employee training.

Aid in maintaining employee records and training schedules.

Handle client inquiries and complaints swiftly and professionally.

Support Directors and engineering staff with clerical tasks and project follow-ups.

Assist in rolling out new operational systems as the company grows.

Champion process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Ad hoc admin as requested.

Qualifications & Experience:

Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residents Only – (No exceptions.)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business administration, operations management, or a related field.

Proven experience in a fast-paced office environment with multi-site operations.

Strong ability to manage teams, work in a team, and work independently.

Skilled in coordinating daily operations, scheduling, compliance, and project allocations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience using accounting software (e.g., MYOB) + advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Basic accounting skills for occasional accounts receivable (AR) tasks.

Ability to collaborate effectively across departments with a positive “can-do” attitude.

Proficient in handling inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001, is preferred.
