Be challenged and imagine with us

As Facilities Officer, Public Domain, you will oversee the management of our campus tree network and support environmental sustainability initiatives across our campuses. This role has two key areas of focus: supervising tree works and maintaining tree records, and leading waste diversion efforts to increase recycling and reuse.

This is a hands-on position, offering variety and the opportunity to work autonomously while contributing to both environmental and campus goals.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee the management and inspection of over 16,000 trees across two campuses, including supervising tree works and updating the tree database.
  • Manage the waste diversion program, focusing on maximising recycling and reuse while minimising landfill waste.
  • Control and maintain the bulk waste area and lead small projects to increase diversion rates.
  • Plan and deliver cyclical activities, preparing reports on the program of works, completed tasks, and outstanding actions.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

How will you inspire us?

You will have:

  • Experience in tree or grounds maintenance, with a practical understanding of managing landscapes and outdoor environments.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently, sometimes travelling between Callaghan and Ourimbah.
  • A practical approach to problem-solving and a passion for environmental sustainability, particularly in waste management and tree care.
What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $93,929 to $103,641 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
