Assistant Venue Manager - The Albion Hotel, Collingwood

Are you a dynamic thinker with the experience and vision to drive revenue and elevate a venue? The Albion Hotel Collingwood is seeking an Assistant Manager to bring fresh ideas, leadership, and innovation to our team.

About us

The Albion Hotel, formerly known as the Punters Place, is a historic 140-year-old building located on Smith Street in Collingwood. After a recent facelift, the team behind Bodriggy, Dr Morse, and Plug Nickel reopened our classic Australiana pub in December last year. We offer a classic pub experience seven days a week, from sunny spritzes at happy hour to late-night drinks and memorable dining. Our seasonal, bistro-style menu by David Boyle (Farmer’s Daughters) highlights local produce, and our beverage selection features Bodriggy Brewery’s drinks and other local independents. We’re an authentic, community-driven venue and invite you to join us as we grow this exciting institution.

The Role

First and foremost, we are looking for someone who has the right attitude, is hardworking and humble. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who thrives on building and implementing ideas, strategy and is eager to make an impact. You’ll work closely with the Venue Manager to oversee operations, develop staff, and drive business growth.

About You

3+ years in a management role within a Melbourne pub or similar setting.

Proven leadership skills with a track record of innovation and revenue growth.

Strong customer service focus and ability to handle disputes with professionalism.

Experience in HR, OH&S, liquor licensing, and financial management (P&L, budgeting, forecasting).

Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.

Proficiency with booking platforms, POS systems, and admin tools.

Organized, hardworking, and passionate about hospitality.
