About the Role:
Are you passionate about delivering targeted and student-centred programs that equip students with the skills they need to succeed at university? Do you have a desire to lead a high-performing and collaborative team? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are seeking a Manager to lead our student-focused and innovative Learning Success team. Incorporating academic, information, creative and digital literacies, as well as numeracy, the Library’s Makerspace and a range of students as partner programs, Learning Success ensures the availability of a diverse range of targeted support services for students studying in-person and online.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the Learning Success team to deliver impactful learning support services, including academic writing, numeracy, digital, creative and information literacies, learning and study skills.
- Manage and inspire staff, fostering a work culture of high achievement that tolerates ongoing change.
- Develop strong partnerships with Curtin’s academics and other student support areas to ensure the Learning Success programs and services meet the needs of students and are integrated and scaffolded into all levels of study.
- Maintain a current awareness of local, national and global trends in learning support services, including new technologies and services to guide continuous improvement.
- Proactively monitor the quality, relevance and impact of all Learning Success programs to effectively leverage staff and resources and ensure alignment with Library and University strategic priorities
- Contribute to meetings and activities of the Library Strategy Team and participate in the Library’s quality and planning processes, including leading strategic projects.
- Authorise operational expenditure related to Learning Success programs and services, including monitoring budgets and reporting on expenditure to appropriate committees and funding bodies.
Ideally, you will have:
- A degree qualification and extensive relevant management experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated experience in leading the development of programs to improve student outcomes encompassing academic, information and/or digital literacy skills.
- Proven skills in providing leadership to a large and diverse team.
- Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a high-performing and supportive work environment.
- A strong understanding of contemporary education practice and learning design.
- Demonstrated commitment to student-focused service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, apply innovative approaches to problem-solving and work flexibly in a rapidly changing environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to, and experience in, effectively promoting, managing and implementing significant change.
- A professional qualification in librarianship (desirable)
Role Requirements:
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
