The Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of Western Australia (AACHWA) advocates on behalf of its member art centres located in regional and remote Western Australia. AACHWA delivers professional development programs for managers, boards, and artists; provides recruitment advice and services; and acts as an advocate to, and central point of contact for, Regional, State and Federal funding bodies.
About the role
We are seeking a Business Services Manager to join our dynamic team at our Perth office in a full-time fixed term (12-month) capacity.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is responsible for the day to day running of operations that covers four core areas, office management, contract management, human resource management, and marketing and communications.
The Business Services Manager is a central role within the organisation leading the operations to ensure AACHWA can fulfil its objectives and support its membership in accordance with its constitution and strategic plan.
Key functions of the role will include:
• Operational & Office Management, establishing and maintaining good quality policies, processes and procedures which support AACHWA to run smoothly whilst also remaining aligned with legislation and best practice;
• Analyse and improve existing organisation processes and procedures to ensure they are up to date, consistent and effective and implements and communicates changes as required;
• Develops budgets in conjunction with the Finance Manager;
• With the assistance of the Administration Assistant, manages the office effectively, monitoring the lease agreement, works needed, office equipment and furniture, information technology, facilities management, insurances, and compliance with laws and regulations as appropriate;
• Leads and guides the team to ensure the delivery of quality outcomes in service delivery.
• Works closely with the CEO and Finance Manager to manage funding agreements, budgets, reporting, auditing, finance, acquittal reporting and the annual report;
• Human resource management, including staff recruitment, learning and development programs, employment contract management, staff reviews, and ensuring human resource policies and procedures are up to date.
• Manage the marketing and communications team by monitoring performance and annual work plans supporting the organisation, project and program teams with needs in this area;
• Develop and maintain a cohesive marketing strategy that aligns with AACHWA’s goals and strengthens brand identity across the organisation’s activities;
• Provides leadership to encourage, motivate, support and inspire employees to be effective, efficient and creative;
• Builds strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and cultural practitioners across the AACHWA membership, as well as other arts organisations, institutions and service providers; and
• Liaises with relevant government and non-government stakeholders, establishes and maintains industry networks on a national level.
Who are we looking for?
Essential Criteria:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with proven success in an administration management role or similar;
• Tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Business Management, Change Management, Finance or related;
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities to achieve successful outcomes;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve conflict;
• Demonstrated experience in writing grant acquittals and reports;
• Knowledge and experience of managing data and filing systems;
• Knowledge and experience of budgeting and cash flow;
• High level experience and proficiency in human resource management;
• High level of computer literacy with advanced skills in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Desirable Criteria:
• Tertiary qualification in human resource management or similar;
• Experience and knowledge of marketing and communications;
• Willingness to travel to and work in remote/regional areas of Western Australia and holder of a Class C drivers license;
• Available and willing to travel inter and intra state including weekends when required;
• Previous experience working with Aboriginal people and/or Aboriginal organisations;
• Experience working for a Non-Profit Organisation; and
• Aboriginality will be highly regarded but is not essential for the role.

Other Requirements:
• Must be an Australian Citizen / Permanent Resident.
• Hold Valid Australian work rights.
• National Police Clearance.
