The Industry Exchange team plays a key role in connecting Curtin University students with industry opportunities, focusing on developing students’ skills and advancing their careers. The team supports the placement of students in internships and has already facilitated over 100 placements. With over 60,000 students enrolled at Curtin, the team is dedicated to growing these opportunities and strengthening connections between students, academics, and industry. Their core mission is to solve industry challenges by offering valuable internship experiences that benefit both students and employers.
About the Role:
Join Curtin University’s Industry Exchange team as a Communications and Marketing Officer! In this exciting new position, you’ll help drive the visibility and growth of our research internship programs. This is your chance to make a direct impact on students by promoting opportunities that allow them to apply research skills to industry problems, build valuable networks, and boost their employability. You’ll work collaboratively with students, staff, and external stakeholders, contributing to Curtin’s vision of industry alignment and research excellence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop marketing materials and content across multiple platforms (social media, website, events) to increase awareness of internship opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance visibility and grow our research internship offerings.
- Build and execute a growth strategy to attract industry partners and students to the program, increasing engagement and participation.
- Support industry engagement, helping to form partnerships that lead to more internship placements and potential research funding opportunities.
- Take ownership of communications initiatives and ensuring all collateral aligns with Curtin’s vision, creating a strong industry-university link.
We are looking for:
We are seeking a creative, energetic individual with a can-do attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment, as well as:
- Demonstrated digital media skills and experience in the use of web content management systems.
- High level communication skills, with the ability to create engaging marketing collateral with accuracy and efficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience in graphic design, videography, or photography (desired).
- Experience with external engagement, with the ability to represent the organisation, and lead high-profile events (desired).
Role Requirements:
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
- Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
