My Pathway is actively seeking a Full-Time Team Leader to join our Disability Supports program. This role offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to embed yourself in one of the remote communities we work in, lead a dedicated local team, and drive the delivery of high-quality disability supports.
Location: This position is open to applicants based in Doomadgee or Cairns. Applicants from Townsville and North West Queensland may also be considered.
About the Role
As Team Leader, you will play a key role in developing a local workforce, ensuring the delivery of culturally appropriate supports & high-quality disability support services. You will need to be able to deliver, implement & manage a range of in-home support, community access, and social and skill-building activities, empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals while maintaining strong ties to family, culture, and community.
This role requires:
- Availability to travel and work in Doomadgee (remote community) for at least two weeks per month, typically following a schedule of one week in the community and the alternate week working from your homebase. This may vary based on operational needs.
- Willingness to travel on non-sealed roads between nearby communities.
- Ability to travel via light aircraft to remote locations if required.
What You’ll Need to be Considered
- Strong commitment to fostering positive outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
- Experience working in remote First Nations communities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including staff management, team development, and conflict resolution.
- Willingness to embed yourself in the community and directly deliver supports when required.
- Highly developed skills in initiative-taking, time management, and independent operation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with team members, clients, and their families/carers.
- Competency in drafting detailed written reports.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to workplace dynamics.
- Possession of or willingness to obtain a Certificate III in Individual Support.
- Qualifications in Disability Services or a related field (or comparable experience) preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Holder of a Queensland Provisional Green or higher Driver’s License.
- Current or willingness to obtain a Provide First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Eligibility to acquire a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and any other required personal history screening as mandated by law.
