Are you passionate about providing nutritious and delicious meals to children? We are looking for a dedicated Canteen Manager to run our primary school canteen, ensuring students receive healthy, balanced meals in a friendly and welcoming environment.

About Us:

The canteen is operated by the Eglinton Public School P&C to provide various healthy, nutritious foods and drinks for students, and supply high quality cantering services for school events and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in line with school guidelines.

Manage stock levels, place orders, and monitor budgets.

Follow all food hygiene and safety regulations

Ensure proper food storage and compliance with NSW food safety regulations.

Oversee the day-to-day running of the canteen, including menu planning and compliance with dietary requirements and NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy

Supervise and support any canteen staff or volunteers.

Create a positive, welcoming environment for students and staff.

What we are looking for:

Experience in food preparation and kitchen management (school or hospitality experience preferred but not essential).

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.

Ability to work efficiently during busy meal periods.

Strong organisational and budget management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a school community.

Friendly, approachable, and passionate about promoting healthy eating.

Hold a Food Handler's Certificate, or willing to obtain one within five working days of the commencement of the trial work period.

Must have or be willing to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) as required for NSW schools.
