At Vanilla Blue, we're reimagining the typical school canteen with our inspiring, nourishing, and freshly prepared seasonal menu. We're making the canteen the heart of the school, a hub of activity serving great food enjoyed by both students and staff daily.

We're seeking a Canteen Assistant to join our school canteen located in Manly 2095. This role is ideal for a working parent that is available between school hours, and who wants school holidays off.

Monday to Friday 4.5 hours per day

Shifts: between 10.00am - 2.30pm

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Pay: $32 per hour + super

Open during school term: 38 weeks per year

Key Responsibilities:

Simple food prep and presentation (toasties, counter display etc)

Lunch sorting and packing

Front-of-house service and POS usage

Receive food deliveries and store them in hot boxes and fridges before service

Kitchen cleanliness and hygiene

Work independently in a solitary role - you will be the only person in the canteen

To be Successful

2 years previous experience in school canteens or a cafe

Good computer literacy - proficient using Word and Excel

Able to work independently and without regular colleague interaction

Good time management and punctuality
