The Big Group have over 30 years of market leading experience curating unforgettable events and dining experiences in retail settings, private and major events such as the Australian Open, Spring Racing Carnival and September Club/AFL Village.
The Big Group have partnered with a corporate client to forge an unparalleled realm of tailored hospitality within the soon-to-be-unveiled business headquarters, nestled in the vibrant heart of Martin Place in Sydney.
In this new venture, we will be delivering several different hospitality experiences, menus and styles of service across boardroom catering, cafés and events in a new contemporary, tech-advanced building and event space. Being the business HQ, all areas will be fully activated during regular business hours, with the event space extending to operate on nights and weekends.
To join our team in this new business expansion, we are looking for Chefs to join our kitchen team in production, café’s and/or events.
Main duties include:
Produce high quality food as per menu/recipe, using all types of cooking techniques. You’ll get great experience and training producing fine dining menu items as well as serving high end events.
Adhere to high levels of food safety standards.
Work as a team to produce high volumes of food on a daily basis.
Production and café teams to work a Mon-Fri week.
Boardroom and event teams to predominately work Mon-Fri with flexibility to work Sat & Sun as events require.
For kitchen hands, duties mainly involve keeping the kitchen clean and transferring goods around the building.
Skills/Experience required:
Chef/cooking experience for chef roles.
High attention to detail, to maintain quality standards.
Knowledge of food allergies and food labelling requirements.
Hard working in a fast-paced environment.
Starting rate for Kitchen Hands from $30.56 per hour + penalties, starting rate for Chefs $31.93 per hour + penalties.
