The Clubhouse Hotel is currently seeking expressions of interest to fill the upcoming position of Venue Manager. The hotel offers a traditional pub experience with delicious bistro meals and regular live entertainment. Situated just off the Hume Highway and only a 45-minute drive from Canberra, the Clubhouse is the hotel of choice for weekend events, dining and accommodation in Yass.

About the Role

Salary: $100,000 Annually

Permanent Full Time

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel bar, kitchen and accommodation with an emphasis on exceptional service and customer satisfaction.

Effectively manage all business aspects of the hotel including but not limited to; managing rosters in a cost-effective manner, ensuring the hotel is well staff where required, resolving conflicts, managing hotel budgets and setting productivity goals.

Training, mentoring, and motivating staff to deliver superior service and uphold brand standards. This will include monitoring and review of staff performance, providing feedback and guidance as needed and offering a positive, safe and compliant environment.

Reconcile daily takings and maintain cash security, ensuring that the hotel’s cash sales are promptly banked.

Overseeing the reservation, reception and housekeeping processes of the hotel accommodation. This will include but may not be limited to; taking bookings, website maintenance, ensuring high standards of cleanliness of accommodation rooms and facilities and assessing and actioning hotel reviews.

Ensure that all conditions of the hotel licence are being upheld and that responsible service of alcohol and gaming are being provided.

Ensure that the exterior of the hotel building and outdoor areas are clean, presentable and well maintained.

Required Skills and Experience:

Excellent personal presentation and attention to detail

Current drivers’ licence and own vehicle.

Appropriate Licensee qualifications or a willingness to obtain prior commencement

Current RSA, RCG and Advanced RCG qualification or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.

Current TAB and Keno training or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.

Previous management experience is desirable but not essential.

Ability to communicate effectively with a team and resolve inhouse issues.

Demonstrated cash handling and experience in financial management.

This is a fast paced and diverse environment and includes weekend and night time shifts. The need to find an individual with flexibility is vital.
