About the opportunity
Southern Cross Universities Faculty of Science and Engineering is seeking a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator to play a pivotal role in connecting students with industry placement opportunities, providing administrative and relationship management support for WIL programs. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Build and maintain relationships with industry partners to secure high-quality placement opportunities for students.
- Coordinate placement processes, including risk assessments, scheduling, and stakeholder communications.
- Act as the primary point of contact for students, academic staff, and industry stakeholders on placement matters.
- Manage the SONIA database, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of student placement hours.
- Provide advice and support to students, including orientation sessions and resolving placement issues.
About you
You are a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a passion for supporting student learning and building industry connections. Your exceptional relationship management skills and ability to work in a high-volume environment will ensure your success in this role. To thrive in this position, you will have:
- A relevant qualification and at least five years’ experience in a client-focused role, ideally in education or industry partnerships.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical skills to interpret and apply policies and procedures effectively.
- Experience using databases and software such as SONIA, Microsoft Office, and web-based systems will be highly regarded.
Salary and benefits

- Part-time (80%), continuing (permanent) There is potential for this position to increase to full-time after 12 months.
- Located at Lismore, NSW 2480.
- HEW Level 5. The base salary ranges from $80,737 - $89,717 per annum (pro-rata), plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $104,969.
