About The Team
Join our close-knit Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team at Murdoch University and play a vital role as part of the Portfolio of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Education. We are a central team supporting the provision of internships, professional experience and clinical placements for students in all disciplines across the university.
Your New Role!
The Work Integrated Learning Manager is accountable for leading the program in support of WIL activities and placements on behalf of the University, ensuring appropriate support and delivery for students, academics and industry partners. The position will lead and contribute to the development of strategic programs and resources to promote and raise the profile of WIL, including placements, in the context of the University's Education Plan and the Employability Strategy.
Your key responsibilities will include -
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships to expand Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and placement opportunities.
- Lead the design and delivery of WIL programs aligned with University employability goals.
- Provide leadership and support to the WIL team, ensuring high-quality service and effective issue resolution.
- Oversee systems and processes to manage WIL operations and stakeholder enquiries efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with University policies and relevant legislation related to WIL and placements.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation across the team.

This Fixed Term (12 Months - Parental Leave Cover) | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) position attracts a remuneration of $109,000 - $132,000 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria:
- Completion of a tertiary qualification with extensive leadership experience and proven expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience in people leadership, development, engagement and management, with demonstrated skills to coach, motivate, inspire and mobilise teams to create a positive workplace culture.
- Highly effective communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in successfully coordinating and managing a partnership program in a complex organisation particularly a higher education institution.
- Ability to identify strategic approaches and generate and implement operational plans.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain successful partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency to innovate and utilise systems and technologies to enhance student, staff and supervisor experience and in the production of high-level work using software such as Microsoft Office and placement applications (e.g. SONIA).
