The Role:
Reporting to the National Sales Manager your responsibilities will include:
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities and project leads within target market segments (commercial, civil, infrastructure, residential development).
Build, nurture, and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers, including estimators, project managers, engineers, developers, and contractors.
Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, providing accurate forecasting and reporting to management.
Understand client requirements deeply and effectively present tailored material and solution packages.
Lead proposal development and contract negotiations to successfully close deals and achieve ambitious sales targets.
Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and upcoming major projects across Australia.
Collaborate closely with internal teams (operations, technical, logistics) to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
Represent the organisation professionally at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
Experience & Skills Required:
Proven track record of success in a Business Development, External Sales Representative role, ideally within the construction materials, building supplies, or a closely related industry.
Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets in a B2B environment.
Strong understanding of the Australian construction industry landscape, including project lifecycles and key players.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with a focus on creating win-win outcomes.
Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented with a proactive approach.
An existing network of contacts within the Australian construction sector would be highly advantageous
Salary Expectations:
$100k - $130k + Super + Company Car + Commissions
