The Role
As Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities, leading negotiations, maintaining market and competitor awareness, managing customer relationships, preparing proposals, and attending industry events.
Develop and implement strategies for new opportunities, including an annual business development plan.
Leverage industry relationships from the Pilbara, Goldfields and St Georges Terrace to secure new business and expand the market presence in Australia.
Approach, negotiate, and close Tier 1 mining and mining services contracts, including acquisitions.
Track market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine business strategies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, clients, and internal teams.
Provide guidance and mentoring to existing staff, fostering skill development and business alignment.
Maintain accurate data, provide periodic reports, and ensure achievement of budgeted sales projections.
Attend trade events, networking opportunities, and travel domestically to strengthen business partnerships.
About You
A minimum of eight years of relevant business development experience in the mining and associated industries, ideally within equipment hire solutions.
Well-established and strategic corporate and mine-site customer relationships within the Western Australian mining and industrials sector, enabling effective business development to drive growth and opportunities.
Proven ability to cultivate and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships leading to sustained revenue and growth in market share.
Demonstrated people focussed leadership and managerial expertise, with the ability to drive performance, foster team engagement and influence stakeholders.
A highly effective team player with the ability to lead, inspire, and motivate employees at all levels, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
Demonstrated capability to consistently meet deadlines and deliver results.
Holds a valid C-Class Driver’s License and National Police Clearance.
Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant digital tools.
