Join a prestigious higher education provider based in Sydney. They are committed to graduating individuals ready to embark on their chosen career paths and are looking for a dynamic and proactive Career and Alumni Officer to join their Student Services and Engagement team.

Your new role

As the Career and Alumni Officer, your main responsibility will be to enhance students' access to local work experience. You will facilitate both paid and voluntary pathways-such as jobs, internships, and industry projects-to sharpen students' employability skills.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the employer base both on and off campus.
  • Identify and secure internal and external employment opportunities.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with industry partners and alumni.
  • Develop and deliver targeted recruitment strategies for internships and projects.
  • Provide professional and proactive career services to support a diverse student population.
  • Engage in proactive outreach with industry partners and alumni.
  • Provide personalised career advice and support through consultations, workshops, and online platforms.
  • Organise and participate in career fairs, networking events, and other activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to student employability and career development.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in career services, industry liaison, or a related field.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours.
