Your new role
As the Career and Alumni Officer, your main responsibility will be to enhance students' access to local work experience. You will facilitate both paid and voluntary pathways-such as jobs, internships, and industry projects-to sharpen students' employability skills.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to expand the employer base both on and off campus.
- Identify and secure internal and external employment opportunities.
- Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with industry partners and alumni.
- Develop and deliver targeted recruitment strategies for internships and projects.
- Provide professional and proactive career services to support a diverse student population.
- Engage in proactive outreach with industry partners and alumni.
- Provide personalised career advice and support through consultations, workshops, and online platforms.
- Organise and participate in career fairs, networking events, and other activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to student employability and career development.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in career services, industry liaison, or a related field.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours.
