Duties

• Conduct vehicle and asset movement
• Construct, alter, and repair tipper body and chassis components.
• Accurately build to job card specifications and drawings.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work and scheduling.
• Understand fundamentals of fabrication and air control systems for heavy trailers
• Understand EBS braking and trailer electrical
• Training and overseeing all employees in area including monitoring attendance of crew.
• Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans set by operations manager to acquit production schedule.
• Maintains high-quality servicing and repairs and minimizes comebacks.
• Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
• Accounts for all documents; ensures that none are missing, and all are processed correctly.
• Monitors shop condition, including cleanliness, safety and the condition of shop equipment.

General

• Follows Work Health and Safety (WH&S) guidelines as well as company policies and procedures
• Other duties deemed suitable with position as required
• Minimum 5+ years trailer building experience
• Experience managing teams
• High computer literacy required
