About the Firms
We're recruiting for two reputable accounting firms, each with a strong national presence and global connections. One works with household brands and iconic Australian enterprises, while the other offers a diverse service line-up including business services, tax advisory, audit, and more. Both firms are known for their commitment to excellence, people-first culture, and providing team members with opportunities to grow and thrive.
The Roles
We're seeking both an Assistant Manager and a Manager in Business Services & Tax. These roles differ slightly in seniority, but both involve managing client relationships, overseeing accounting and tax compliance work, and mentoring junior staff.
Assistant Manager - Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee client files from start to finish
Handle complex tax matters: PSI, CGT, FBT, Div7A, Trust Distributions, GST Recs
Review financial accounts and income tax returns across various entities (SMEs, Trusts, Partnerships, HNWIs etc.)
Provide mentorship to juniors and contribute to department strategy
Manager - Key Responsibilities
Manage team workflow and performance
Oversee preparation of financial reports and tax returns
Provide insights into financial and tax planning matters
Review work papers, budgets, cashflows, and client deliverables
Identify and implement efficiencies across jobs
Liaise directly with clients and Directors on complex issues
Requirements
Assistant Manager: Minimum 5 years' experience in business services and tax
Manager: Minimum 6 years' experience in business services and tax
CA/CPA qualified or actively pursuing
Proficient in XERO and MYOB
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Strategic mindset with leadership potential
Benefits

Assistant Manager: $100k-$120k
Manager: $130k-$150k
