Set within the historic 186-year-old Homestead, Homestead Restaurant blends rich history with a modern and warm dining experience. Our menu focuses on Mediterranean-style dishes crafted from fresh, local produce, and we offer a range of dining options from à la carte lunches and dinners to creative feed-me style offerings. Additionally, we host weddings and intimate fireside events, making our venue a special and memorable place for both guests and staff.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Restaurant Manager who is dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences and leading a dynamic team. This role involves managing daily restaurant operations, training and developing staff, and ensuring a consistently high standard of service. You will have a strong appreciation for food and wine, with a sharp eye for detail and aesthetics to create a memorable dining atmosphere. Additionally, you will oversee stock control, minimise wastage, and maintain operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient service.

Recruit, train, develop, and motivate the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Manage inventory and stock control, ensuring minimal wastage and cost control.

Maintain a strong wine knowledge and ensure the wine list complements the menu.

Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure food quality and presentation are consistently high.

Foster a positive and inclusive work environment while maintaining high service standards.

Support the Marketing and Events Manager in coordinating weddings and special functions, ensuring smooth and successful events.

About You

You are an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager who thrives in a hands-on leadership role. You have a love for food, wine, and hospitality, combined with a deep understanding of restaurant operations. Your strong leadership, communication skills, and ability to create a positive team environment will allow you to maintain high service standards and deliver outstanding experiences for guests.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, ideally in a fine dining setting with a focus on exceptional guest experiences

Strong leadership skills and ability to train and develop a motivated team.

A well-rounded knowledge of wine and a passion for food and beverage pairings.

A keen eye for detail, ensuring high standards in food presentation and restaurant ambiance.

Solid understanding of stock control, budgeting, and operational management.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
