Principal Power Systems Engineer

• $210,000 to $250,000 including super + bonus

Role Opportunity
As a Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting power system studies, supporting generator connection processes, and ensuring compliance with the National Electricity Market (NEM) and WA Wholesale Energy Market regulations. You will work with a team of experts across transmission, distribution, and energy storage projects.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Expertise in PSCAD and PowerFactory (PSS®E experience beneficial)
• Strong understanding of generator connections, performance standards, and testing procedures
• Experience in power transmission and distribution systems
• Knowledge of conventional and renewable energy generation
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead power system studies and grid connection assessments
• Conduct R1/R2 testing and commissioning
• Advise on technical, commercial, and financial considerations
• Work with utilities, developers, and regulators
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers
