Rice Queen, Fitzroy's premier Pan-Asian fusion restaurant and cocktail bar are looking for our newest Commis Chefs to join our team, contributing to our already amazing dining experience dining experience. Main Role Responsibilities:

• Assist senior chefs with the day to day operations of the kitchen utilizing your skills & experience
• Use correct techniques and follow procedures and recipes when preparing and cooking menu items
• You will be responsible for your section and operate to optimum efficiency

Experience, Skills & Attributes:

• Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen
• Ability to effectively follow instructions and absorb new information
• Interest in local and global food trends
• Good communication and immaculate presentation
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
• Team player and display a positive and nimble attitude
• Understanding of Food Safety and OH&S
• Foundation knife skills and understanding of basic cookery terms and techniques
• Focus on detail
• Outstanding time management during preparation and service periods
• Calm and composed demeanour
• Qualification in Commercial Cookery preferred but not necessary
• Experience with Pan-Asian cuisine preferred
