Hey Chefs,

We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our talented team at Le Roi Cafe in the vibrant suburb of Mentone, VIC. This is a Casual with permanent hours and possible part/full time position depending on the success of our new venture where you will play a pivotal role in leading our kitchen and ensuring the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences for our customers.

Le Roi Cafe is expanding and extending its trading hours. We soon will be opening up at night for dinner/tapas. On top of that we are opening a second location which will also need to be managed (just sandwiches and salads).

What you'll be doing:

Oversee all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and quality control

Lead and mentor a team of passionate chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment

Develop and refine innovative seasonal menus that showcase your culinary expertise and align with the cafe's brand and vision

Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation

Ensure efficient workflow and inventory management in the kitchen

Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and implement improvements to enhance the cafe's culinary offering

What we're looking for:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Chef/Cook or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality and tourism industry

Proven track record of successfully managing a kitchen team and driving operational efficiency

Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of chefs/cooks responsibilities and industry best practices

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate your team

Passion for creating innovative, high-quality dishes and an understanding of current food trends

Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen management software
