About the role

As a Trail Maintenance Crew Member at Yarra Ranges Council, you will play a hands-on role in maintaining and enhancing the Warburton Mountain Bike trails, ensuring they remain safe, enjoyable, and in top condition for riders of all levels. Working closely with the community, visitors, and traders, you’ll carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and improvements to trails and infrastructure. This is a full-time permanent position (38 hours per week).

This is a Band 3 role with a salary range/hourly rate between $66,591 and $70,351 per annum, plus superannuation.

Support work-life balance with a fortnightly or monthly rostered day off and hybrid working arrangements.

Experience and skills we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Ability to work seamlessly with diverse teams, contractors, and customers to ensure smooth, coordinated operations.

Exceptional customer service skills, resolving issues with empathy and clear guidance to deliver outstanding stakeholder experiences.

Proficiency in operating, inspecting, and maintaining trail equipment while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

A strong commitment to adhering to OH&S and environmental regulations for safe work practices and effective risk management.

A proactive mindset to anticipate challenges and take immediate action to optimize processes and enhance efficiency.

Technical expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and operating specialized trail tools and machinery
