Our client, a respected and growing new home builder, is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join their Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a senior role with career progression as the company continues to grow.

About the Role

As Senior Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring smooth and efficient processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations. The business is transitioning from a manual system to automation, providing the opportunity to enhance processes and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, verification, PO matching, discrepancy resolution, data entry, and payment processing.
• Manage AP automation, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Identify and resolve invoice mismatches, missing data, and payment exceptions.
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure smooth onboarding, timely payments, and issue resolution.
• Reconcile payments and perform bank reconciliations.
• Generate and analyse AP reports (ageing reports, cash flow analysis).
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, and IT teams to optimise processes.
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.

About You:

• 5-10 years of experience in Accounts Payable.
• Experience in the construction industry is beneficial but not essential.
• Proficiency in Beams or similar accounting software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
