This hybrid Accounts Payable Officer role (3 days in our East Melbourne office, 2 remote) is a key member of our Finance team.

Job Description

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support financial operations.

Take ownership of the full Accounts Payable process - from invoice matching to smooth, on-time payment runs

Ensure all invoices and approvals align with financial policies, maintaining accuracy and compliance

Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve discrepancies quickly to keep things running seamlessly

Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to keep our accounts payable and general ledger in perfect sync

Help drive efficiency by maintaining and improving accounting systems, while supporting the Finance team with reports and ad-hoc tasks

Qualifications

You bring proven experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance role, with a solid grasp of accounting principles

Tech-savvy and Excel-proficient - experience with Xero is a bonus, but not a deal-breaker

A hands-on, solutions-focused team player who thrives in a fast-moving, start-up environment

Naturally curious and proactive - you’re always looking for ways to simplify, streamline, or automate

Detail-driven and organised, with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
