FUNDRAISING EVENTS MANAGER
Please note: To apply, you will need to email us, rather than applying through the Seek portals. Please submit your cover letter addressing the criteria and a little bit about yourself, along with your resume to [email protected].
Neuromuscular WA is looking for a dynamic Fundraising Events Manager to join our dedicated team to play a pivotal role in ensuring our sustainability.
As the Fundraising Events Manager, a big part of the role will see you nurture, foster and develop donors, sponsors and event participants to deliver successful fundraising events. Your focus will be on delivering our current suite of events and continuing to grow our revenue streams and fundraising capacity to ensure the sustainability of Neuromuscular WA. It’s fast-paced, exciting and rewarding.
We seek a proactive individual who can contribute creative solutions whilst understanding the practical realities of non-profit operations. You will be encouraged to explore new possibilities and work collaboratively to find solutions that align with budgetary and sponsorship requirements, as well as our established operational workflows and existing software and automation systems.
Across the year, this role manages the delivery of a number of major fundraising events, including golf days, a VIP live auction, a concert at a vineyard, an art exhibition and a Carols by Candlelight.
Success in this role, marked by the delivery of such diverse events, hinges on exceptional time and project management, proactive communication, and a community-focused mindset. Within our small, dynamic team, we foster a collaborative environment where individuals routinely step beyond core duties to support each other, ultimately striving to create a lasting positive impact.
We’re looking for someone who will take the time to understand how things work, and then gradually make improvements that help the team and our events. You’re emotionally intelligent, approachable and naturally bring people together.
You’ll work within our small team of three, that makes up our Fundraising and Communications Team, to:
Plan, manage and deliver a diverse range of fundraising events, individual fundraisers, corporate events and campaigns
Manage event timelines, operations and logistics including venues, permits, risk assessments and sourcing and managing vendors and suppliers
Seek and secure corporate sponsorship and in-kind donations for all events, including auction items and prizes
Manage event budgets, ensuring they are cost-effective and financially sustainable and ensuring accurate records are maintained
Collaborate with the marketing team to drive event awareness and participation
Identify opportunities to increase event-based revenue and implement creative strategies to maximize engagement
Conduct post-event evaluations and prepare reports for stakeholders and the executive team
Engage and manage volunteers and community members to participate and support event initiatives
Ensure appropriate recognition and contractual obligations are met for all partners, sponsors and stakeholders
Coordinate applications for grants and be responsible for acquittals of any funding provided
Neuromuscular WA welcome applications from a range of backgrounds, irrespective of ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, gender identity or lifestyle choice. We encourage applications from people with disabilities, indigenous peoples and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
We know that people from underrepresented communities tend to only apply for roles where they meet all the selection criteria, so if you meet most of the criteria and can explain how your experience is transferable to the role then we encourage you to think about applying.
This role requires you to have a current driver’s licence and a reliable car.
Please address the criteria in this job ad by providing examples of how you have demonstrated each item in your previous role. This also includes:
At least 3 years’ experience in fundraising event management, planning, implementation and execution
Demonstrated experience building relationships with key contributors and stakeholders
Experienced in managing event budgets, ensuring they are cost-effective and financially sustainable and that accurate records are maintained
Proven ability to collaborate with sponsors and donors to successfully plan and execute a diverse portfolio of fundraising events and activities
Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships at all levels of stakeholders, across varying industries
Demonstrated comprehension of the charitable, not-for-profit, and membership organisation sector, including practical operational realities
High-level and best-practice fundraising knowledge including a demonstrated track record of exceptional relationship-building and retention of supporters
Experience in managing multiple stakeholders, including event attendees, fundraisers, partners, volunteers, donors and suppliers
Experience working with a CRM to track activities and relationships
We’d also love it if you have these skills under your hat (but they aren’t essential):
Have existing networks and contacts within the Perth corporate sector that can be leveraged for the benefit of Neuromuscular WA
Experience using task-tracking software, such as Asana
ABOUT YOU:
Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in fundraising event management, with a proven track record of managing successful events, campaigns and budgets.
You will be a confident team member with strong interpersonal skills that will enable you to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with donors, sponsors and other stakeholders.
