The Lights Cafe, nestled within The Lights Recreation Centre, is a vibrant and welcoming spot for our community to relax and enjoy delicious food and beverages. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cafe Manager to start immediately and to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our cafe.

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise cafe staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Roster Management: Create and manage staff rosters to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.

Stock Control: Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and minimizing waste.

Budget Management: Work within a budget to control costs and profitability.

Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate events and special promotions to attract and engage customers.

Basic Food Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation and ensure all food safety standards are met.

Key Competencies:

Proven experience in managing a cafe or similar hospitality environment.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent organisational and time management abilities.

Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.

Ability to coordinate events effectively.

Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food safety regulations.
