Occupational Hygienist
An experienced Occupational Hygienist is required by a NSW Government Organisation in Parramatta (hybrid WFH) on an initial 6-month assignment to identify risks in the workplace and advise on how to avoid and resolve them.
Key accountabilities:

• Identify key hygiene risks to workers, measure exposures, and provide advice on and lead the implementation of suitable controls.
• Identify and ensure that work environments which may affect the comfort, well-being and health of the employees are managed and comply with the regulatory requirements.
• Lead the organisation’s response to legislated changes related to Crystalline Silica Substances (CSS), and to respond to the proposed changes to the Workplace Exposure Limits for Hydrogen Sulphide.
• Develop positive stakeholder relationships to drive understanding and implementation of controls
• Deliver presentations on key risks
• Work with external suppliers and providers as required
• Maintain clear and effective project plans.
• Provide expert advice and coach line management on occupational hygiene related matters

Selection criteria:

• Relevant tertiary-level qualifications
• 5+ years’ experience working in an occupational hygienist role in high work industry (including consulting to relevant industries)
• Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
