Complete Staff Solutions have an exciting opportunity available for Occupational Hygienist with State Government agency, The role is base in Parramatta.

Parramatta location

Mon to Fri

WFH - Option

$500 per day + Super

State Government Role

The Occupational hygienist roles identify risks in the workplace and advise Sydney Water on how to avoid and resolve them.

Support Safety strategy, capability uplift and ways of improving safety across Sydney Water Business and Suppliers

Make minor strategic and project decisions within permissible parameters

Create corporate policy and procedures under instruction.

Authority to ensure freedom of action and access throughout the organisation at any level in order to foster safety and improve safety outcomes

Freedom to suspend an operation on the basis of safety or compliance

Accountabilities and deliverables:

Demonstrate effective support, influence and drive in establishing and maintaining positive ongoing working relationships with multiple stakeholders across multiple business divisions within business

Ensure business outcomes are always understood and supporting solutions are delivered to (and beyond) stakeholder expectation

Influence key stakeholders where opportunities exist to improve operating and management practices across the business through the provision of analysis, benchmarking and recommendations that enable informed decision making

Provide support and advice to management, supervisors and staff to ensure compliance with all legislation requirements and codes of practice

Ensure safe systems of work and work practices are embedded in all business activities

Maintain an accurate and current knowledge of the relevant legislation keeping abreast of any regulatory reform

Provide expert advice and coach line management on safety and quality system related matters

Conduct scheduled and adhoc audits in the role of lead auditor or as part of a multidisciplinary team in support of the safety audit program

Conduct investigations as a lead investigator and or participate in large multidisciplinary investigations as requested

Provide comprehensive reports of investigation findings with appropriate recommendations for system improvement and/or recommendations for further investigation;

Ensure that all safety actions resulting from investigations are raised as required and tracked for satisfactory completion.

Experience and skills:

Working knowledge of the WHS Act, WHS Regulations and associated Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.

Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports and other material.

Ability to operate, test and/or repair monitoring, sampling and/or analytical equipment and instruments.

Ability to investigate and analyse information and draw conclusions.

Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Research and problem solving sills

Ability to implement policy and procedures

Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask.

Highly developed level of self-awareness / self-management

Ability to effectively coach others and impart knowledge / information on all levels

Experience in Utilities sector.

Qualifications, licences, and certifications:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in working in an occupational hygiene role within a large complex organisation in a high risk industry

Minimum 5 years’ experience in the development and implementation of occupational hygiene frameworks and occupational services. This includes the development of methodologies for assessing their effectiveness and driving continuous improvement

Tertiary qualifications in a Science or related discipline

MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENCE
