Occupational Therapist (Contractor) – Flexible, High-Impact Role with Purpose
Accord Health
Posted 2 days ago
You became an OT to make a difference and we think you should get to do your best work, backed by a likeminded team. At Accord Health, we’re known for stepping into complexity with confidence, helping people access the services and support they’ve struggled to find. You’ll work alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team where collaboration is how we move people forward.
Whether you’re providing assessments, therapy, or professional services such as supervision or consulting, you’ll be supported by a culture that truly values people for who they are, not just what they can do. The work is flexible, meaningful, and deeply human. We’re looking for an OT who values quality, brings compassion and adaptability, and wants to be part of something great.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
You’ll help people get unstuck through tailored strategies that shift the momentum. Many of our customers have complex needs and have spent too long waiting. You’ll help them move forward as part of a multidisciplinary team that surrounds them with coordinated care.
Our customers include NDIS participants, icare and Lifetime Care recipients, and occasionally privately paying individuals or those with other insurance funding. We work across systems but our focus stays on delivering thoughtful, high-quality care.
This role is grounded in clinical excellence, supported by a team that works smart, sincere, and adaptable.
Some days might include:
Completing FCAs that shine a light on what’s possible and what’s needed
Collaborating with social work, psychology, rehab counselling, other occupational therapists, and other services to tackle complexity with confidence
Seeing customers in clinic and in the community, based on your strengths and availability
Building capacity through therapy that’s practical and aligned to each person’s goals
Supporting customers to take the next step themselves, and walking it with them when other supports are unavailable
Owning your caseload with full flexibility, with a team behind you
Who We’re Looking For
You value excellence, not just in outcomes, but in how you show up. Compassionate, adaptable, and self-driven, you take initiative, stay grounded in evidence, and communicate with clarity. You thrive independently, but also get energised by being part of a team that works relationally.
You might be an experienced professional in your prime - passionate about doing brilliant clinical work and being recognised and rewarded for it. Or you might be earlier in your career, bringing maturity, curiosity, and the drive to grow. We create space for health professionals to do their best work, and for those with entrepreneurial energy, there’s room to shape and contribute beyond the clinical role.
What matters is your commitment to people - their dignity, their potential, and their journey forward.
You’ll be a great fit if you:
Believe every person holds intrinsic value
Take ownership of your work and maintain a high standard
Think critically, practice ethically, and stay open to learning
Share insights and collaborate across disciplines
Navigate complexity with calm and creativity
Why Join Us
We care about our customers, and about the people who serve them. That means you’ll be backed by a team that values clinical depth, trust, and meaningful work. We are proud of what we do and how we do it, together.
At Accord Health you’ll join a growing team committed to real progress. You’ll have the freedom to shape your schedule, the support of experienced colleagues, and the satisfaction of doing work that impacts lives.
We offer:
Flexibility – own your caseload and set your hours
Admin and referral support – so you can focus on the clinical work
A wraparound team – you’re not flying solo
Opportunities to grow – clinically, professionally, entrepreneurially
A culture that values people and their outcomes
Requirements
To work with us as a contractor, you’ll need:
AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
Australian Business Number (ABN)
Professional indemnity and public liability insurance
Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
Confidence working independently, with your own vehicle
Strong documentation and communication skills
Regular availability of at least 15 hours per week, up to 38 hours per week, with flexibility to structure your schedule in alignment with client needs and personal commitments
Contractor Rates
We offer generous rates between $125–$155 per hour, depending on experience and responsibilities. You’ll be supported to do high-quality work and paid accordingly.
